Windows 10: Windows pin not working, asks to verify code through email. Not receiving any codes.

So I came to my laptop this evening to sign in and use it and typically I use the fingerprint sensor but today it required a windows pin. Normally this isn’t a problem but for whatever reason every combination of pin I feel like I put in is not working. So I choose the forgot my pin option. It prompts to sign in Microsoft and send a verification code. I verify the email and it says it’ll send a code but I never receive one. I’ve been stuck here for the past couple hours trying to log in with no avail, it gives me a phone option but it is not a current number I use anymore. I don’t have any oth

When I am using Word app, I often receive a message requiring to verify my email account. When I then try to do it, the system asks for a code and I receive an email with a 7 number-long code but the code that is required
has just 4 numbers

I have been contantly asked to verify my email. when I try the system asks for a code. The email I receive has a code; 7 numbers long..... the code requested allows only 4 numbers.

Why? and how do I resolve?

• Where exactly do you get the prompt/notification to verify the email address?
  
• How are you trying to verify the email?
  

However, you can try using other options to request the verification code i.e. requesting the code over a call or as a text to your phone number and see if that helps in resolving the issue.
