Windows 10: Windows Plugins on Linux Browsers

By using this

Pipelight | Installation - CentOS
and spoofing the browser you can run things like SKY GO etc on Firefox for example on Linux - The Silverlight plugin works. Other Windows plugins can work too.

Not sure why some of these companies are so "Anti Linux" -- especially as more and more of us are using things like NAS boxes to host all these types of services these days.

Anyway SKY GO works on it.

Obviously SKY GO etc works on Linux since there are all sorts of applications for Ios and Android which are both Linux variants. Why they make all this stuff difficult on a "Standard" computer seems totally Bonkers.

Thanks for the info. Firefox runs perfectly on Linux, its my default browser.



However it seems Nokia coded something Windows OS dependent into the firefox plugin. When I login to OVI maps using firefox then I am told that the OVI maps plugin is not compatible with this browser (firefox 3.5.9 on i586). Bad, wish nokia could soon
write a compatible plugin...



Is there a way to to tell my friend (to stay in the picture described abobe) where to meet just using the mobile phone?

Flash 10.1 with hardware accerated video for N900?

there they do provide an arm cortex a8 flash10.1 version for the n900, try your luck and request a version, you probably know how to install it, but here are step by step instuctions ( noobs these are developers only, stay out ! )

Firefox mobile lists /usr/lib/browser/plugins/libflashplayer.so as the location of its flash player, but also has a copy located in /home/user/.mozilla/plugins. The current build of firefox mobile(4.0b1) has plugins disabled so I cannot test these changes.

Simple Install Guide:

1. Obtain file from TI

2. On a linux pc run the file(you will need to enable exec rights on the file)

3. Follow the installer and then go to the path specified in the installer and grab the libflashplayer.so

4. Copy libflashplayer.so to somewhere on your n900(via ssh or via mass storage mode)

5. sudo gainroot

mv /usr/lib/browser/plugins/libflashplayer.so /usr/lib/browser/plugins/libflashplayer.so.bak

if copied to mass storage: cd /home/user/MyDocs/

cp libflashplayer.so /usr/lib/browser/plugins/libflashplayer.so

6. start the browser and it should all work
