Windows 10: Windows Pro 11 FPP, USB partition wrong?

Hello,I've got 2 retail versions of Windows 11 Pro that come with the USB drive. In order to meet the minimum requirements to install the OS I must have CMS disabled, but in doing so you can no longer see the USB in the boot menu. Upon investigating both USB drives are pre-formatted as MBR, surely this is wrong and they need to be in GPT format instead?Thank you for any help.

Windows 10 Pro FPP - USB installation Virus Infection

Hi,

My OS is Win 10 Pro FPP & the installation of the OS is using a USB.

Let me say that my system has got infected by virus. And I want to install Win 10 Pro FPP (operating system) again.

I insert the Win 10 Pro FPP installation USB in my system's USB drive. I restart my system, press F2 to enter the boot menu & proceed for completing

the installation.

In that case also, will the original Win 10 Pro FPP installation USB (the original Win 10 Pro FPP USB) get infected by virus since my system is

already infected by virus.

Because, if we install Windows from a DVD, the DVD does not get infected by virus. But, if any clean USB is inserted to any PC that has been infected,

even the USB gets infected by virus.

*(Please remember that my system is already infected by virus and I want to install Win 10 Pro FPP again).*

 

Installing windows off of a USB stick

Step By Step from vista:
From admin cmd prompt

1. diskpart
1a. list disk
2. select disk 1 (replace 1 with your usb drive)
3. clean
4. create partition primary
5. select partition 1 (replace 1 with your usb drive)
6. active
7. format fs=fat32
8. assign
9. exit

Copy Windows Vista's DVD ROM content to the Flash Drive

xcopy d:\*.* /s/e/f e:\ (d being your vista cd and e being your usb stick)

And that's it, boot off your usb disk

 

Windows 11 Pro Upgrade from Windows 10 Pro Edition

No but after it installed the malfunctioning Windows 11 upgrade it was listed as Windows 11 Pro. Microsoft Windows support advised I reinstall Windows 10 Pro and said that Windows 11 is really only meant for new PC's that come with it preinstalled. MSI website doesn't list my 2020 GT76 Titan dt-039 notebook on their Windows 11 upgrade eligibility list so I guess that's why the Windows 11 Pro upgrade failed. I suggest being careful with trying the Windows 11 upgrade despite it stating my notebook was capable of running Windows 11 it was wrong. Luckily I have the original Windows 10 Pro USB Flash drive because the Windows 11 Pro upgrade was so incomplete I had no way of reverting notebook back to Windows 10 without reinstalling from a USB Flash.
