Windows 10: Windows Pro magically turns into Windows Enterprise despite everything, including a clean...

I've tried everything. I bought a new laptop that came preinstalled with Windows Home. I had a Windows Pro Key, so I tried to upgrade. Everything went fine at first. It activated, I had Pro. I was happy. Not for long, though. After the upgrade every few minutes/hours/days, it suddenly decides it's now Windows Enterprise and that I need to activate which of course it can't do because it can't reach the mythical enterprise server.


I've tried the following:


Using the downgrade/default key: vk7jg-nphtm-c97jm-9mpgt-3v66t, works for a few minutes. same problem

Using the downgrade/default key while disconnected from the internet, rebooting, then trying my win10pro key, works for a bit, then the same problem

Trying a different Win10 Pro Key Yes, I had one - Works for a bit then the same problem.

I've tried removing the computer from my Windows Account followed by a clean install, then activate...you guessed it, same problem that took a day, so 24 hours of peace.

Repeat from the beginning.


Nothing has worked, and I've tried it all more than once?


Any ideas?

Clean Windows 10 (?PRO?) install

I have bought a legit "Windows 10 Pro" key of a key website. It is legit since i'm currently using it for over a year now. I currently have Windows 10 Pro installed on my PC and I want to do a clean install. I just can't find the windows 10 Pro download in the tool. But if i could use a windows 10 pro key with a normal windows 10 install, I'll be good to go.

As far as I am aware there is no Windows 10 Pro version.
But I'd be happy to be wrong.

Where exactly did you get this "windows pro" key from? If it's off eBay or something, then perhaps you've been sold a dud key. Also, it's not clear if you mean you bought windows 10 pro or an earlier version of windows as there's no such thing as "windows pro".

Do you have an Windows 7 or 8.1? If so, install that, download the ISO with the media creation tool and burn it to disc. Then run it as an upgrade. After that, the components hash of your PC will give you a digital entitlement for a clean install, so just bought off that disc, wipe the partitions and install it clean. It will auto activate over the internet once installed.
