    Windows product key keeps connecting after uninstallation.


    so, for some reason my PC is running on a volume license key and I want to get disconnected from it. But every time I run power shell and put in the command it says it installs but every time it just connects again. Also, I have to disconnect from the internet too every time because it says I don't have privilege's, please help!

    Hi Andre,

    Thank you for contacting Microsoft community.

    I suggest you to Uninstall the license using the following steps.

    • Press Windows key + X
    • Click Command Prompt (Admin)
    • At the command prompt, type: slmgr.vbs -upk
    • Press Enter, this will uninstall the product key from the computer.
    Further on, install Windows 8.1 activate the copy with the product key on the new machine. Then again upgrade the same to Windows 10 using Window Update or Media Creation Tool.

    Get Windows 10 app not responding after changing product key

    • Windows 8.1 was with KMS license
    • Reserved free upgrade to Windows 10
    • Bought Windows 8.1 product key and changed product key via PC info app
    • Get Windows 10 app not responding.
    Steps tried

    • Uninstall KB 3035583 using wusa /uninstall
    • Restart
    • Reinstall KB 3035583 using Windows Update
    • Restart
    • Click on Get Windows 10 icon, not responding.

    We understand the issue you are facing and will assist you.

    I suggest you to skip the activation step and install Windows 10. After the installation is complete, you can activate the copy of Windows via phone by following the steps provided below:

    • Press “Windows key + R”, type “slui 4” and press Enter.
    • Select the Region from the list and click Next.
    • Call the Toll-Free number provided on top and can activate via phone.
