Windows 10: Windows product key

I have installed windows 10 on my laptop but it wasnt genuineit was cracked too, so i bought a genuine boot flash and just changed the fake prodect key with the new genuine one. Recently, i have changed my hdd into sdd, so i have to install new windows 10. My old hdd is still working but an error occured to it when i try to boot it from an external rack saying "inaccessible boot device" however i can use cmd from recovery options. When i installed new windows on sdd i signed in to my email and it said that my product is licensed and gave me new product key different from the one on old hdd i used produkey to look for it as i dont remember it , my old background image was transferred to my new sdd.


Is this an enough evidence that i have signed in to my email on my old hdd?

And if so, did Microsoft store my new genuine key or the old fake one?


NOTE: i think of reinstalling windows 10 on my old hdd ,since its broken, and i know that microsoft servers will recognise the device id and give it the most recent key, then i would deactivate the key and re-enter it on my new sdd windows. What do u think of that?

Thank you for contacting Microsoft community.

I suggest you to Uninstall the license using the following steps.

• Press Windows key + X
• Click Command Prompt (Admin)
• At the command prompt, type: slmgr.vbs -upk
• Press Enter, this will uninstall the product key from the computer.

Further on, install Windows 8.1 activate the copy with the product key on the new machine. Then again upgrade the same to Windows 10 using Window Update or Media Creation Tool.

Where is my Product Key if I want to re-install?


Like davidhk said. But if you really want to see your windows key, I would suggest Belarc advisor. It will give you some useful information about your system, product keys of your software is among them (not only Microsoft, you will have listed most of your keys).

  Did you download the ISO of the Game from the Steam?
  

It is not Windows Live Key, it’s a game product key which is required to install the game.

I suggest you to check with Steam for Product key and check if it helps.
