Windows 10: Windows Quality Update Issues

In March a Windows update broke my computer. I had no task bar, no access to the start menu or settings, no ability to right click to control HP display. Took it to the shop and £90 later the chap wasn't sure he'd fixed it but I got it back and it was working again. Last week the Windows Update did exactly the same thing. Between my youngest and I we managed to access power controls and restart in WRV mode. I uninstalled the Quality update first and it worked! Everything back to normal. I've stopped the updates from happening for the time being but obviously that's not a permanent fix. Anyone

Definitely not an issue with the Windows Servers as I just re-installed yesterday and got all my updates.

It works, but I still need to fix it so that way I dont have to plug computers directly to the modem to get windows update to work. It was also blocking me from installing directx.

If your wireless router has a built in firewall maybe it's somehow set to block the ports that Windows updates use?

I'd also suggest if it works with it being directly connected then you could try resetting your router to see if this fixes the issue.
