Windows is installed on my SSD, There is Arch Linux Distro on my HDD ext4, A MacOS journaled partition on the HDD which is blank, and finally the one that probably triggered it my Android x86 Likely an ext partition install on my HDD

I installed Android x86 on my laptop today and booted into all my OS to see if all of them were working. Windows and others are working but now Windows wants to restart and ruin all the work I did

I was working on Windows just casual browsing when I suddenly get a notification "Windows needs to restart to fix drive errors", that was not a good sign for me especially because when the last time I installed Android x86 it somehow broke the next day I tried to boot it. Now I am pretty sure Windows thought it is a bad partition and tried to repair it

Now I don't even know why Windows even bothers to do something without the user's permission and the error notification didn't give me any options to block it. Last time it broke Android x86 it just did it silently and I just blamed it on compatibility issues

There is nothing wrong with my other installs and none of them mess with Windows and play nicely while Windows just wants to break everything

I just want to know how to disable these automated changes it does, Windows once restarted and updated when I put it on sleep and closed all my documents and tabs which I was working on. I don't get why, just why

    :)

Installing windows from usb hard drive

You can install Windows on seperate partitions from an existing Windows install. The difference with doing it from the desktop is that you'll be able to select which OS you'd like to boot to, without entering bios at all...it will give you a list of each OS, and 30 seconds to choose(the time waiting before it automatically boots the first one on the list can be adjusted as well).

There was a time when I was running XP, Vista, and Win7, all off of the same drive, with each OS on it's own partition.
