Windows 10: Windows randomly shutting down

I've been dealing with an issue since I updated to windows version 1909. Issue persists even in 2004


Every so often my system will simply shut down. Doesn't really lose power because it still shows the shutting down animation. The few times that I have a lot of programs running at the same time it takes a little longer to shut down.


Ive attempted all of the common Windows fixes I could find online. I've turned off hibernation and sleep mode. I change the processor minimum power state as well as the hard drive minimum power state. Changed allthe powersettings so it never goes into sleep mode hibernate. going into the BIOS and changed the power settings there to turn off any Eco settings.


Ive updated the BIOS to the latest version and also retreived the latest drivers from the respective manufacturers.


I have run hardware diagnostics on everything I can. I've run prime95, memtest86, PC check, and few stress tests on my video card. None of the tests that give results have given negative results. The computer does shut down during prime95 but no more than when the computer is sitting idle on the desktop.


Ive done a fresh install of windows twice now. Still happens. I want to make sure that i am not missing anything before i start RMAing parts....

Laptop randomly shuts down after latest Windows 10 update

Since the latest update of Windows 10 my computer decides to randomly shut down after every couple of minutes. First the screen goes black, then the sounds stops and after quite a while the power also goes down.

Obviously I though of cleaning the fan with a big vacuum, as suggested on My Windows 10 Computer Randomly Shuts Down . However, after doing this, the shutting down goes even quicker. I cannot even properly log-on before the shutdown takes place.

What should be my next step?

Ps. The computer is quited aged (roughly 3 - 4 years). The battery is dead enough such that I always need to have it plugged in an outlet. It might just be "done for" but I'm hoping to revive it for just a little bit more.

 

Random shut down and restart??

Ever since I replaced the fan (with heat sink) the computer has randomly shut down and then restarted, at first during streaming, and now, will shut down and restart anytime. I tried to replace the graphics card to no avail. *Confused *Mad

One suggestion was to replace the RAM.

Any suggestions on how to repair my computer?
