    Windows randomly started denying me access to almost all files on my computer


    One day i booted up my computer and was editing a notepad file and when i tried to save, it told me i did not have permission to edit that file, i had to go to properties-security-edit and give access manually to my "User Desktop name" then i could save the file. I thought that this was a one time thing but it started happening to a bunch of files until i noticed that my access had been removed on every single file on my D: drive and a bunch of files on my C: drive and i cannot grant access to my D: drive i run my OS on my C: drive since it's a small SSD and i install all my games and media

    Denied access to files

    Ok I got a pc in from a friend and he wants me to fix it, it doesn't boot up properly so I was thinking reinstall windows but first I have to save all his songs and crap. First problem it denies me access to the files on his HDD when it is hooked up to my pc .... damn. Second problem is that it is a very, very old pc nforce 2 chipset and I can't ID the board so I can't get the drivers. It won't turn on so I can't check it that way any ideas.

    LAPTOP is not accessible ..... Access is denied.

    I am trying to share a folder on a LAPTOP. I have other a number of other systems that have folders Shared and they work fine, but with this one I get the error "LAPTOP is not accessible ..... Access is denied." when I try to access it from a different Win10 system. So I went thru the entire "How to Share Files and Folders Over a Network in Windows 10" tutorial step by step. File and Print Sharing is enabled, SMB1.0 client & server are running, and Everyone has Full Access to the Share. Still get the error. I have tried it with the Network Public and Private, with the same result. Any suggestions ? Microsoft Windows 10 Home Version 10.0.19042 Build 19042

    Access denied to zip file

    Hi Stephanie,

    The issue that you're experiencing may be due to a corrupted user profile. We have found a workaround regarding the "Access denied" error. Kindly follow the steps below.

    • Press Windows key + E to open File Explorer.
    • Copy the files that you want to zip.
    • Paste it in the Downloads folder.
    • From there, zip your file. You may follow the steps provided in this
