Windows 10: Windows reboots during sleep

Hi there,


I have been having issues for quite some time where Windows will crash and reboot when I leave the PC to sleep, and then come back ~6-8 hours later.


Steps to Reproduce
1. Use the PC as usual
2. Lock the computer (eg with WIN + L)
3. Return ~8 hours later and enter password
4. PC will have rebooted, as all apps are closed

I tried to dig into the Event Viewer to pull out anything critical, and I can see the following

Logged: 5/06/2019 6:30:11 PM
The previous system shutdown at 6:28:29 PM on ‎5/‎06/‎2019 was unexpected.

The last message I see before that timestamp is:

Logged: 5/06/2019 6:17:38 PM

The system has returned from a low power state.



Sleep Time: ‎2019‎-‎06‎-‎05T06:14:56.114246700Z

Wake Time: ‎2019‎-‎06‎-‎05T06:17:32.809569400Z



Wake Source: Device -Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller

Hi,

This may happen due to its power plan. A power plan is a collection of hardware and system settings that manages how computers use and conserve power. For this, we suggest that you reset and restore power plans to its default. kindly follow these steps:

• Open the Command Prompt (Admin).
• Copy and paste the command below into the command prompt, and press
  Enter:
  • powercfg -restoredefaultschemes
• Close the Command Prompt window, and then restart your PC to apply the changes.

After that, go to Power & sleep settings
by typing it into the Windows Search. Check the When plugged in, PC goes to sleep after
settings is set to Never.

Sorry for the inconvenience caused to you. I suggest you to try running the Power troubleshooter and check.

Run the Power troubleshooter.

• 
  Type Troubleshooting in the search bar and without quotes and click on
  Troubleshooting in the results displayed on the top of the window
  
• 
  Click System and Security on left panel.
  
• 
  Click Power, new window will popup.
  
• 
  Follow the on screen instructions.

Follow the methods given below and check if it helps.

Method 1: Run Power troubleshooter.

You may try running the Power troubleshooter and try resetting the power options.

• Press Windows key + X, select control panel
• Select Troubleshooting.
• Click on System and Security and select Power.

Also try updating the display drivers.

Method 2: Update the Display Adapters drives from Device Manager:

a) Press Windows Key + R, type devmgmt.msc.

b) Expand the Display Adapters.

c) Click on properties, click on Driver tab.

d) Click Update Drivers button.

e) Click on OK button.

Let follow the steps given below to check the power settings.

Method 3: Check the Power Option settings

Follow the steps given below.

• Press Windows key + W, Type power sleep.
• Click “Change when the computer sleeps”.
• In the Put the computer to sleep box, select a new value such as 15 minutes. However, make sure that you do not select Never. Then, click Change advanced power settings.
