  1. Windows recognizes half the memory as shown in bios

Yesterday I reseated my GPU after trying to upgrade it and realizing I am missing some cables. Today I noticed that windows is only recognizing half of the memory sticks. I am using 4 DIMMs with 8GB each. Windows was recognizing all 4 DIMMs just fine prior to reseating the GPU. I verified the BIOS as well and it is recognizing all 4 DIMMs. I checked the advanced boot options and maximum memory is unchecked. I tried deleting the zero and unchecking it and rebooting to no avail.Motherboard: Z370 AORUS Gaming WIFICPU: i7-8700KGPU: MSI GeForce RTX 2080System: Windows 11 Pro, 64-bit, build 22000.16

  2. Windows 10 not recognizing 8gb ram

I am using an ASUS P5G41T M LX PLUS motherboard with 2x4gb ram sticks. Bios on motherboard was updated 2011.

    Running Windows 10 32bit OS.

Memory shown at start up 8192, memory shown by Windows system 8192, but only 3.40gb usable.

How do I manipulate windows/bios to recognize full amount of memory.

I read in one of the forums that Windows 10 32bit does not recognize higher than 4gb memory should I change to Windows 64bit OS.

Thanks for any suggestions that will work

Windows recognizes half the memory as shown in bios

No Boot, Drives Not detected, Can't Load Win10 Pleses Help!

Until the BIOS sees your M.2, there's nothing you can do. It does not matter if the M.2 is unformatted/unallocated, the BIOS should see it.
    1. Suggest that you take the M.2 out, clean all the contacts and re-seat it and hope this is the case.
    2. If step one fails. Connect your 250GB SSD back in using one of the SATA port to see if the BIOS recognize it. If it doen't, then it might be something wrong with the MB, if it does then boot up the Windows Installation USB, run diskpart, shrink it at least 40GB then create a partition, Leave it unallocated then install Windows there.

Also try to re-seat all other components such as Memory, Video card etc...
