Windows 10: Windows Recovery Drive issues with Activation and Windows security

I use an HP 15 with 11th Gen Processor, Recently i decided to upgrade from 256ssd to 1tb SSD. I told the technician i didint want to loose my factory windows home license as it allows me updates and other benefits. He said he will do a recovery drive. I gave him access to my microsoft account, he asked if i attempted disabling bitlocker; i said yes and he complained that i disrupted protocols that he will have to restore them before creating a recovery drive. The problem now is that, after installing back with a recovery drive, Windows security no longer opens until i downlaod updates, once up

Data Recovery for Mac (OSX Capitan) ?

Anybody knows of a good data recovery software for mac? Preferably free?

I use Active@ Data Recovery for Windows, but honestly no idea what to use for Mac OSX.

Any suggestions?

I'm not sure this exploits the legacy BIOS but rather it exploits the legacy boot method on MBR drives, injecting a signed key before the OS boots, which you are correct in that it has nothing to do with Windows 8. And the simplest fix would just be to require boot drives use GPT when Secure Boot is enabled in UEFI.
