Windows 10: Windows recovery wanting a password but it wanted a pin set up during set up

I've been having issues with my windows 10 instalation and it has then tried to do an additional repair. It then brings up my account and asks for my password. However, because windows drives you to set a pin instead of a password, that is what did.d. Now when it asks for my password during the repair/ recovery process, what am I supposed to do, as it doesn't accept the pin at this point?

Glad to know that the Pop up with the password manager is disabled with the above suggestion.

Try the below suggestions to fix the issue with Signing in using PIN authentication.

Steps 1: Launch the File Explorer.

Step 2: Browse to this location, and delete the contents of the folder.

C:\Windows\ServiceProfiles\LocalService\AppData\Local\Microsoft\NGC

Step 3: Go to Settings (Press Windows
and I key), Accounts > Sign in Options.

Step 4: Click on Add a PIN and set your PIN.

Step 5: Restart the computer and check the status of the issue.

If you're using Windows 10 with a linked Microsoft account, there is no option to remove a password every time you wake up your device.

However, to make it easier for you, we suggest that you replace it with a PIN instead of using a password.

To setup a PIN, follow the steps below:

• Open Settings.
• Select Accounts.
• Click Sign-in options.
• You'll see a button to Add a PIN.

If you really don't want to have a password on your device, you'll have to switch to a local account.

To switch to local account, follow the instructions below:

• Open Settings.
• Select Accounts.
• Click Your account.
• Click Sign in with a local account instead.
• Follow the prompts.
