Windows 10: Windows referance \ point to different file than file just updated

Hello,I had the issue a few years back as well and is now facing the same issue. I just cant remember how I resolved the issue.I have a customer x86 program that is located in the Program File x86 folders, with the programs configuration files. The problem that I have is when I update the configuration file .dat file in this folder, using the application the data is saved however when recalling the data the old data is still return \ used data that was stored in the previous \ original fileA few years back I faced the same issue and found that Windows created a copy of the old file and ref

you get the idea. ( too lazy to put it in a for loop and test it.

or just open regedit and remove all the fileX from that key.

I don't think that step #3 is even needed. The probabiliy of two MD5 hashes from differing files colliding is what, 2^-128 ?
Even if your were hashing a million files the odds of a hash collision on differing files is astronomically small.

 

Page File

Set minimum and maximum to a constant number as suggested by others, that will help reduce fragmentation on the drive coz of different page file sizing.
