Windows reinstall when getting a new motherboard

Hey guys,I have a quick question regarding if i should do a reinstall of windows or not.I bought a new motherboard from Asus and i was wondering if a reinstall would be needed here since i had a Gigabyte one before as to not conflict the drivers etc?The processor stayed the same and gpu and everything, its just a new motherboard upgrade from a brand to another.

    :)

    Reinstall Windows?

You don't need to reinstall windows. Go to the device manager and remove uninstall the processor and motherboard drivers listed. When you start the system back up you should be able to re-install the new ones. I just changed my mobo/processor Friday, everything is fine.

BTW I have seen some reviews that state practically no difference in using more than 2gb of ram.

  3. Getting New Motherboard and Need to Reinstall

Hello, I'm getting getting a new motherboard in a couple weeks, to replace the one that I've had and used in my computer for the past 5 years. Curently though, I'm running the free upgrade of windows 10 that was offered to me from my Windows 8., that was
installed at the time. Now, the only physical OS software CD that I have in my possession, is my original, purchased Windows 8 pro that later on was updated to 8.1 then eventually to my current window 10 that was provided to everyone for free.

After I install my new motherboard what steps must I take to once again get windows 10 back on my computer? I know trying to put a windows OS that is registered to another mobo will give me verification issues when trying to bind and register it to a new
motherboard. I dont want to have to buy a new OS when it's the same computer it's going on but just with a new mobo. How do I transfer my original window 8 pro disk to my new mobo and then work my way back up the free install of windows 10 that I had? Thanks
in advance for help on this.

Getting a new motherboard - Win 7 Pro reinstall?

I believe my motherboard might be having issues. If this is the case I will need a replacement. My current motherboard is an ASUS M3N78 Pro:

    ||ASUS Global

I would prefer to upgrade to another ASUS board since I know how some of their utilities like EZ Flash work. However, once I install a new motherboard, I have read that you must reinstall Windows. Is this true? I have Windows 7 Pro 64bit (upgrade). I do not want to reinstall Windows (just did this a few months ago). I realize I must call Mircosoft to reactivate Windows (can anyone explain this process to me?), but is a reinstall necessary? I have also read that if the "chipset" of the motherboard is similar, a reinstall might not be necessary.

And what ASUS motherboard would be a good, but cheap ($130 or under), replacement for my current motherboard? One that has a similar "chipset", if possible? And will my CPU work in an AM3+ socket?

    Specs:
    AMD 965 125W version
    Antec Earthwatts 500 or 650
    GTX 560ti 2GB or HD 6950 2GB
    Corsair XMS2 DDR2 4x 2GB DIMM = 8GB total <--- I am ok with getting a board with DDR3 and buying new RAM.
    PCI card
    SATA HDD x2
    SATA DVD/CD
    Some case fans
