  1. Windows reporting incorrect graphics card to Microsoft account devices page...

    Hi,

I had a driver update installation issue on one of my computers' NVIDIA GPU not too long ago, and it apparently caused my "graphic card" to switch to the 'Microsoft Basic Display Adapter' in both my Device Manager and System Information panels. As a result, my Microsoft account page, under devices, displayed the following:

Windows reporting incorrect graphics card to Microsoft account devices page... 4cca47e5-e629-41e1-a71b-658c2958a962?upload=true.png

As a result, I performed a clean display driver uninstallation using DDU in Safe Mode without Networking, and a clean installation using NVIDIA drivers for my GPU.

However, even after doing so, and verifying that System Information displayed just one display component under Components --> Display, and that Device Manager had the "hidden"/ghost MS Basic Display Adapter uninstalled, my Microsoft account devices page still displays the same thing.

Any help, pointers, or next actions to take? Would signing out of my MS account on the device & removing/unlinking it from my account's devices page, and re-registering the device trigger some kind of refresh I'm not yet aware of?

    :)

  3. Unsupported Graphics card .

    Hello Ayush,

Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

I request you to try the following steps:

Uninstall and Reinstall the Graphics Card Drivers.

Step 1: Uninstall the Graphics Card
    Drivers

    • Press “Windows Logo” + “X” keys on the keyboard.

    • Click on “Device Manager” from that list.

    • Search for the Graphics Card
from the device list, right click on it and then select “Uninstall”. On the un-installation window, if you have an option: “Delete the driver software for this device” you may select that and then remove the corrupted drivers
      from the computer.

    • Follow the on-screen instructions to complete it and then restart the computer if prompted.
After the restart, please go ahead with the next steps to install the latest drivers and check if that resolves the issue.

Update Driver Software from the Manufacturer’s website:

Step 2: Go to the Computer or Graphics Card
manufacturer’s website and search for the latest Windows 10 drivers available for the
Graphics Card model and then install it by following the instructions given in the website.

I hope this helps you. If you have any further query in future, feel free to contact us. We will be happy to help you.
