Windows 10: Windows reset defaults to 11 Pro - activation issues

When I reset my laptop, it automatically installs Windows 11 Pro even though I only have an activation key for Windows 11 home. How do I downgrade?

SURFACE PRO 3 RESET TO FACTORY DEFAULTS PROBLEM

The camera caused a system freeze every time it was activated so I thought why not restore.

• I attempted to reset my Surface Pro 3 to Factory defaults.
• The Surface Pro made it to 1% then crashed.
• Now it is in a reboot loop.

I have tried several times and now it gives an "Unable to reset your PC. A required drive partition is missing" error.

Do you have any suggestions on how to make it work again?

We suggest you to follow the below steps and check if it helps:

• Press Windows key + X.
• Go to control panel.
• Go to Default Programs.
• Click on Microsoft Picture Viewer and set it to default.
• Check if the issue is resolved.

Windows 11 Pro activation issue

Hi,

I have a new HP 15 laptop with an OEM Windows 11 Home edition installed.

I changed the product key via Settings>System>Activation> change Product Key to a retail Windows 11 Pro licence.

My Microsoft account identifies my device as having Windows 11 Pro installed.

The problem is the System Activation State is now 'not active' and can't activate Windows.

The error message displayed in Settings>System>Activation is as follows:

We can't activate Windows on this device because the product key was already used on another device. If you think it wasn't used on another device

select troubleshoot below. Error code: 0xC004C008.

The system troubleshoot completed saying 'we found a Windows 11 Home digital license for this device running Windows 11 Pro. To activate using this digital licence you need to install Windows 11 Home'.

I do not have the OEM Window 11 Home activation details other than the EFI and Recovery partition on the PC.

I have tried resetting the PC but I cannot get around this problem.

Any help would be appreciated in getting Windows 11 Pro working.
