Windows 10: Windows reset my colour settings

Idk if it was an update or what but i turn on ky pc, log in and bam, windows is trying to choke me out with its **** 365 stuff, i thought thats weird that usually only happens once then after i say "no **** off" like 50 times to any offer that no one would ever want and i finally go to my desktop my colour profiles and hdr settings are all ****, what the ****? how do i know why this happened so i can maybe try to avoid it in the future?

How to factory reset Cisco 1700 Router

Hopefully I can help you here....its a very common thing to happen.


First, I take it you dont know the passwords for console access or telnet/ssh?

I will assume that these devices belong to you.

step 1. Plug a cisco console cable into a serial port on your pc
step 2. Plug other end into Cisco console port
step 3. Using hyperterm or putty or similar connect to the serial port
step 4. boot router, and make sure you clearly can see the output (this confirms you have good serial comms)
step 5. if this fails, adjust the comm port settings (9600, 8,1,n are the default)
step 6. now you have to do the only hard part...send the break command:

Break command list: Break Commands

Go down the list and match your OS and SW and try the sequence suggested.

If this fails several times do what I do: Install putty (free) and then to send a break so you can get into rommom just hit "ctrl-a b".

 

Reset Windows 10 background and text colours to default settings

Last week I had some serious registry / profile problems that I simply couldn't fix. The general consensus from the various forums suggested a complete refresh but on the understanding that I would lose all of my apps and docs AND that I would be returned to Win 8. I was so sick of it all that I decided to take this nuclear option and found that it loaded Win 10. Having reinstalled everything I noticed the BG colours weren't right and almost created a new set of problems.

Re your suggestion on personalization - it 'sorted' worked but I noticed the option for Start, Taskbar & Action Centre was greyed out and I couldn't change this. By chance a search took me to a similar problem solved on this forum which has worked a treat. unwanted resetting of colour profiles to standard.

I am working with a few different colour profiles for various ambient light conditions. I made them with calibrating software and the are listed in the display settings. When I change to another profile, all is fine. A next change (whether that is a changing
to another or changing bach to the same), Windows resets to uncalibrated.

Also a change in resolution settings causes the reset to uncalibrated. I'd say that is a bug, or am I missing something?
