    Windows reset with media tool usb and iso option doesnt work.


    I have problems with my pc since the update settings and the security settings doesnt work but ive got also a ton of data, programms and other stuff on my pc, so i decided to reset my pc without loosing any data with the media tool. It all works fine, but like at roughly 60-70% of the installation it cancels and nothing got fixed at all. To Download WIndows 11 i now have to get the latest Microsoft version so i need help 1. Fixing the installation so i can finally get the latest update or 2. Save all my data, Programms Apps etc. and start a full rebot deleting everything but i would really p

    Resetting PC problem via windows and media creation tool

    Maybe its something about how you made the USB. To make a USB that will be certain to be bootable, download the Media Creation Tool and follow the steps in Option One of this tutorial.

    Download Windows 10 ISO File

    at step 6, leave the 'Use the recommended options for this PC' box checked.
    at step 8, select 'USB flash drive'.

    Hi Sunil,

    Please make sure that you have installed all the latest Windows updates before you start the upgrade process. if you have already installed all the latest updates and yet face this issue, then I would recommend you to choose the option to create an ISO file
    from the media creation tool and then perform an upgrade with the ISO. Choose the second option to create a media in the tool. You would be asked if you want to create a bootable USB media or create an ISO file. Choose the option to create an ISO file. Once
    the download completes, open the ISO file in the File Explorer, double click on the setup.exe file to launch the upgrade process. Try these steps and let us know the results for further assistance.

    As my subject line asks which is the most reliable method?

    Either choosing the USB or ISO option when downloading the Windows 10 Media Creation Tool.

    I had a failed install when choosing the USB Media Creation Tool download option then using this USB to start a new install of Windows 10 on a replacement hard drive on my Acer Model Z1801 desktop computer.

    Any help much appreciated.
