WIndows resource protection has found some corrupt files... No Fix

    Hello,

I have tried to run sfc/ scannow and it gives me the notification that: WIndows resource protection has found some corrupt files but is unable to fix some of them. Details are included in the CBS.log.

Is it ok to post the log here so someone can have a look at it?

    Thank you!

    :)

After System File Checker completed you would have received one of the following messages:

•Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations.

•Windows Resource Protection could not perform the requested operation.

•Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files and successfully repaired them.

•Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them.

    Which message was received?

Hi, can you look thru it and check this..
If the only failure report is about opencl.dll, this is about your Nvidia driver and can be ignored.

However I believe that discrepancy was resolved after an update a little while back.

    See post #2 here
sfc /scannow failed to repair certain files - Windows 10 Forums

    and #3 following.

If that fails, then you can do an in-place upgrade repair install.
An In-place upgrade repair install will fix many things, but not those where the settings are not changed by the procedure.

For this you need an installation medium with the same base build as you have installed.

Repair Install Windows 10 with an In-place Upgrade - Windows 10 Forums

This will refresh Windows, after the manner of a Windows installation.
    - all/most associations will be unchanged
    - all your programs will be left installed
    - you will lose any custom fonts
    - you will lose any customised system icons
    - you may need to re-establish your Wi-Fi connection
    - you will need to redo Windows updates subsequent to the build you have used for the repair install
    - Windows.old will be created
    - system restore will be turned off- you should turn it on again and I recommend you manually schedule a daily restore point.
    - you will need to redo any language downloads including the display language if you changed that)

This is one of the better features of Win10: as each major build comes out, that's your updated reference build, and as updates are mostly cumulative, there will be few to do.

    Recommendation:
Before you perform this major repair procedure, do create a disk image.

Please consider using disk imaging regularly. It's a brilliant way to
    - preserve your system (and your sanity)
    - back up your data
    - restore your system to a previously working state in a relatively short time

Recommended: Macrium Reflect or Aomei Backupper (free) + their boot disk/device + large enough external storage medium.

I have found 31 corrupt entry's through dism/scanhealth, now when i want to restore health it says that it can't find the source file location. I have tried entering gpedit.msc but apparently Win10 Home edition doesnt include this future.

Would it be wise to add this future or do i better do a 'repair install'?

Ok, I have made disk image yesterday and this morning I ran the program...

after i did the scanhealth, it said the problem was repairable so I mounted the image of the recommended iso 64bit and started option 2, it gave me the notion it couldnt find the source files so i ran option 3, operation succesfull (mounting i suppose) and then it gave the notion source files could not be located and operation succefull (unmounting i suppose)

So what do i do now, sfc scan? I just searched for the text file but couldnt find it on desktop so i went to windows/logs/dism and checked the file for Total Detected Corruption.

    Checking System Update Readiness.

You are getting that error, because the Source (install.wim) does not contain the file needed..
Most likely because the file can through a windows update...
    Try Option 2

But do not run yourself ragged over 1 corrupt shortcut .lnk

Allright, yeah i tried to reinstall/ reset windows mediaplayer but nothing changed. I guess you are right and i leave it like this.

Are the other functions of your program also advisable? Is it ok to try them out or is it only for when you really got problems?
