windows resource protection not listed in services-can't run sfc /scannow how to fix

I have windows 10 64 bit and last night I was going to run sfc /scannow and it went very fast and was done in just a couple of minutes. That in itself was an indication that it wasn't working. I found upon going into services.msc that the windows resource protection is not even listed in services. Have tried several fixes and nothing has worked. Ran sfc /scannow in safe mode, have done chkdsk correcting errors as it went along. Have tried DISM and still sfc not working.I have checked windows module installer and that is ok. It seems that I will have to enter windows resource protection

    :)
