Windows 10: Windows Restarting When It Wants

However nothing works, and windows still updates and restarts when it pleases.


It is completely unacceptable, that hardware I have purchased and own, can be restarted by a third party whenever it wants. I had a significant number of applications running, including programs that were processing data and running scripts, all of which have been lost, costing me hours of time.


Windows needs to let the user choose "restart now", otherwise not restart, like the old days.


So far, since the advent of windows ten, I have lost hundreds of hours, been delayed in presentations while windows "updates", and generally lost time, energy and money - none of which we have an excess of.


This needs to STOP.

Hard drive/ OS issue

Windows Updated(16299.309).KB4088776 Restart is required to complete.


Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.

windows xp installation and dual core am

could someone please list the steps they follow to install windows with a dual core processor and windows xp service pack to. I'm reletively new to amd dual core and i feel i'm missing a step. All help will be appreciated. thanx
