Windows 10: Windows Sandbox failed to initialize. 0x8007000d

SandBox did use to work but I'm not sure what happened and I'm getting Windows Sandbox failed to initialize. 0x8007000d error which does not seem like other people faced this error on the internet.I tried disable and re-inable widows features but didn't work also I checked OS files

Windows Sandbox fails to initialize

I am trying to run Windows Sandbox on my machine but whenever I open it it just shows a popup with the message "Windows Sandbox failed to initialize". There isn't even any error code accompanying it. I did check my BIOS to see if I have virtualization enabled
and yes I do.

Here are my PC specs:

AMD Ryzen 3550H with AMD Radeon Vega 8 Graphics

AMD Radeon RX 560X with 4 GB GDDR5 VRAM

8 GB DDR4 RAM

512 GB Micron NVMe SSD

Windows 10 Version 2004

Hi, I started getting the following error every time I try to start Windows Sandbox on Windows 11:



Windows Sandbox failed to initialize. Error 0x800700cb. The system could not find the environment option that was entered.



It used to work fairly recently, and I don't recall doing anything unusual that could have caused this. There's a new CPU, Intel i9-13900KS, but it supports virtualization and I have a vague memory of Windows Sandbox working after I first installed it. I also don't know how to solve this without trying to reset the Windows installatio, even though I'm an advanced user.



Some of the things I tried:



• Making sure that the entries in Environment Variables are all there, including copying the registry entries from another Win11 installation (same version) that has the sandbox working.

• Uninstalling and reinstalling Windows Sandbox from Windows Features.

• Making sure that virtualization is enabled in the BIOS

• Disabling Hyper-V, Virtual Machine Platform, and Windows Hypervisor Platform; reenabling them.

• Running SFC and DISM integrity checks

• Making sure Windows Sandbox isn't blocked by any AV or firewall software.

• Updating to the latest drivers, Windows updates, etc.



As I said, I'm a pretty advanced user, so if you have a suggestion please make sure you know what you're talking about and assume that I did all the generic basic stuff, like "trying to turn it on and off". If anyone has an educated suggestion, I'd really appreciate the help.

1. Check Group Policy Settings:

5. Try a Clean Boot:
   
   • Temporarily disable all non-Microsoft startup items and services using a clean boot:
     
     • Press Win + R, type "msconfig," and press Enter.
       
     • On the "Services" tab, check "Hide all Microsoft services" and click "Disable all."
       
     • On the "Startup" tab, click "Open Task Manager," and disable all startup items.
       
     • Restart your computer and check if Windows Sandbox works in this clean boot state. If it does, gradually enable services and startup items to identify the conflicting one.
