Windows 10: Windows Says that Edge needs to be restored with the Defalut settings even though it...

when I open Up windows Settings it says that it needs to be restored but when i click on it, It does nothing and I do not want that Notification there.

Edge Search Does Not Permit Change of Region


I got these suggestions from the Microsoft Community forum.No. 1 worked for me:

Thank you for posting the query on Microsoft Community. I am glad to assist you on this.
We have reproduce the issue here and we are able to access non-regional search for google using Microsoft Edge.
I would suggest you to try the below steps and check if it helps.
Step 1:
Clear browsing data option of Microsoft Edge and check if you face the issue. To do so perform the steps below.

1. Click on the More actions icon next to the feedback icon present on top right corner of the Project Spartan homepage.
2. Select Settings and click on Choose what to clear.
3. Check the boxes Browsing history, Cookies and saved website data and Cached data and files and click on Clear.

Step 2:
I suggest you to create a new user account and check if the issue occurs.

1. Go to Settings.
2. Choose Accounts and then select Family and other users.
3. Select add someone else on this PC.
4. Enter a user name and hit next.
5. Click on Finish.
6. Sign out from the current Account and Log into the new account.

Step 3:
It could also happen because of network issue. I suggest you to try with different network connection and check if it helps.

 

Windows 10 EDGE losing default settings

Now, to be able to understand the issue better, let us know a few more details on the below questions.

• Is it an abrupt issue? Also, do you have any System Restore point set in Windows prior to the issue?
• Did you check if the same issue occurs when you login to Windows using a different user account?

As an initial recommendation, I suggest you to open Task manager, right click Edge, go to details, click Microsoft Edge Content process, right click and select End task, do this for all Microsoft Edge Content Process then reboot and test.

If it still does not help, I suggest you to use the use the following steps to clear the cache and cookies in Microsoft Edge.

• Open Microsoft Edge, go to More
  
  > Settings.
• Select Choose what to clear under Clear browsing data, then tick the checkbox(es) for the information that you want to clear.

Restore MS Edge, Get rid of Yahoo!

To set a default browser, go to Settings>System>Default Apps, scroll down and in Web Browser, click on the browser and it will list the browser available/installed in the system. Select Microsoft Edge from the list and close the dialog box.

To set a home page in Microsoft Edge, I suggest you to perform the steps provided below to change home page.

• Open Edge, click on (…) option on top left corner.
• Click on Settings.
• Under ‘Open With’, select ‘A Specific page or pages’.
• In the drop down select ‘Custom’.
• Add the website/link and press Enter.
• Close and open Microsoft Edge.
