Windows 10: Windows' "Script Regular" font seemingly not working AT ALL in Windows 11.

So I've tried to use this font called "Script Regular", that's apparently default on Windows 10 and 11. Thing is, it doesn't show up in any lists and only found it in C:\Windows\Fonts as "script.fon". No matter how much I install it and restart my PC, it won't show up in Paint or any other programs. I even asked someone who had Windows 10 to send me their font file, and same issue. Could you please fix this? I've even tried turning it into .ttf but all websites and programs weirdly crash. It's as if this font was cursed.

Times new roman bold font

To further isolate the concern, we suggest that you restore default settings and check if it helps. See steps below:

• Press the Windows key + X, and then click on Control
  Panel.
• Change the View by to large/small
  icons, and then click on Fonts.
• On the left pane, click on Font settings.
• Under Font settings, click on Restore default font settings.

If restoring the default font settings does not bring back the Times New Roman Regular font, we suggest that if you have another computer with Windows 10, you can copy the Times New Roman Regular font into your PC's Font folder.

 

Which Windows 10 system fonts can be deleted?

Similarly to a user from 2016, I'd like to keep only the most essential fonts from Windows 10.

I have narrowed down (through trial and error) to the following:
