Windows 10: Windows Search Bar is showing a blank box/ not working

Yesterday my computer suddently couldn't load into Windows for some reason, despite me do nothing but I eventually got it back to boot with a USB Stick and some commands. However, now I am noticing that everything seems to be working but the Windows Search just shows a blank box no matter what I type. I went into regedit, created the "BingSearchEnabled" D word 32-bit file and set it to 0 and well as "Cortana Consent" but no luck either. I'm kinda stuck of what to do now and seeing help. Windows Search services is on in services.msc, running at Automaitc. Though, when I open task manager the

• 
  Right click on the task bar.
  
• 
  Go to Cortana.
  
• 
  Click on show search box.
  

Now check if you are able to find search box.

Hi,

To show the Search bar on your taskbar, kindly follow the steps below:

• Right click on a blank area of the taskbar.
• Select the Cortana submenu and select the option Show Cortana icon.

You can also always press the Windows+S keys to open Search.

Windows 10 Search Box on Task Bar Not Working

The search box to the right of the Windows Button on the task bar stopped working.

When I click the cursor into it, a blank box briefly pops above the search box like it usually does when it shows various items but quickly then disappears. The cursor then disappears from the search box.

What might be causing this? I usually use the search box for searching for things.
