Windows 10: Windows search bar opens always Microsoft edge and i want it to open google

Whenever I hit the Windows button on the keyboard or on the taskbar and enter a term to search, it will always open in edge with a Bing search, even though my default browser is Chrome. I've tried to change it in edge so it will open google instead of Bing but this doe still not work I've tried checking if it is a virus even though my pc is relatively new but this docent work


Is there any way that when I hit the windows button and search the web, that it will show up in Google?


please help i've waisted so much time with this and i want this to be over

Force Microsoft EDGE to open in GOOGLE NOT Bing.


Windows 10 Microsoft Edge opens in Bing.
I would like it to open EVERY TIME using Google.

I went to More Options, Open With, A Specific Page Of Pages shows Custom with Google below that.
I then went to More Options, Settings, Advanced Settings, Search In The Address Bar changed to Google.

Edge still opens in Bing.com

I suggest you to follow the below steps to open actual address of websites with short forms as you wish:

• Open Microsoft Edge, click on More actions(...) at the right top corner.
• Click on View advanced settings, under Search in the address bar with
  click on down arrow.
• Choose <add new>, try to add the default website.

Secondly, as opening pages in new tab is set by design, I suggest you to provide this as a feedback.

changing default search engine to google from Bing in IE Edge

To change the default search engine on Windows Edge.

Step One: Open Microsoft Edge

Step Two: type in the search engine into the browser address such as (www.google.com)

Step Three: Click on the three dots top right below the x (close button)

Step Four: Click on settings

Step Five: Scroll and click on Advance Settings

Step Six: Scroll to Search in the address bar with click within the box

Step Seven: Click on Add NEw

Step Eight: Your search engine should be listed Click on it

Final Step: select your choice of:
