Search showing old, deleted apps and not showing newly installed apps

Ah ha.. progress, of a sort.
That points to a corrupted user profile, which means general Windows repairs (DISM, in-place upgrade repair install...) will not help.

It also means 'Windows' isn't broken, if you see what I mean.

What isn't at all obvious, however, is how to fix this.

I therefore suggest you have the following options:
    - ignore it and use other means of searching
    - transfer to a new user profile and delete the old one
    - hope you can find some way to fix it.

Have you ever done anything to disable Cortana or bing results- any hacks or tweaks that might be related? Some ideas that might prompt thought...

Actually, yes. I have disabled Cortana and web results using the ShutUp10 app: O&O ShutUp10 -Free antispy tool for Windows 10

I'm really sorry I didn't mention it earlier because when I first applied those tweaks, I never faced any such issue

Windows Search Doesn't Show Installed Apps, or Puts Commonly Used Apps 10+ Down In Search...

Some installed apps don't show in search for Win10

Some programs in AppData\Roaming do not show up in the search menu. For example, Discord, is in Roaming, but does not show up when I search for it. Many apps that I have installed are also not in Roaming.

Same goes for \Start Menu. Lots of apps listed, some show up in search, some do not.

All applications were installed on my main account. The second account was not created until very recently. I'll look through the threads you listed now.
