Windows 10: Windows Search Indexing keeps restarting from scratch in windows 11

I hate Windows 11.Every time there is a windows update, my search indexing keeps on restarting from zero every few days or so and then takes a few days or so to complete the indexing because it keeps on pausing.Which really messes up my work as I need the search function all the time in windows explorer.Every microsoft "expert" always has the same help to offer which never ever works. NEVER.From a search for help on the web, I see that I am not the only idiot with this problem, which has been raising its ugly head for a number of years now.**** Microsoft? How can you not come up with a fix for

Windows Search Indexing keeps restarting from scratch after reboot in Windows 11, but only after the index is fully built.

After my drives/files are fully indexed, Windows Search Indexing keeps restarting from scratch after I reboot in Windows 11. Very frustrating because I can't search for anything and it slows down the computer. Indexing takes a very long time because there are over 500,000 files including all emails, etc... To be clear, the issue does not arise until all of the files are indexed and the indexing is complete. This may take a day or two and I may shutdown and reboot during that time period without a problem. Once the data is fully indexed, indexing restarts from scratch on the next reboot.

Is there a setting that needs to be changed? What can be done to retain the index and add new data to the index rather than rebuilding each time I reboot?

I suggest you to follow the steps below and check if it helps

• Press Windows key + R.
• Type Services.msc In the search box.
• Select Windows Search
• Restart the services and set the service as Automatic

If the issue persist try performing Rebuilding Index again.

To rebuild the index follow the steps below:

• Open the Control Panel from the Start menu.
• Open Indexing Options in the Control Panel.
  
• Select the Advanced button in the Indexing Options window.
• Select Rebuild in the Troubleshooting section of the Advanced Options window.
• Select OK when it asks if you’re sure you want to re-build the search index.

Since the Index is initially working, we suggest setting up startup options and restarting Windows search by following the steps below:

• Open the Run window by pressing Windows key + R button.
• Type services.msc into the Run field and hit enter or click
  OK.
• Look for Windows Search and right-click on it and select
  Properties.
• Click on the dropdown menu next to Startup type:.
• Select Automatic (Delayed Start) or Automatic depending on your preference.
• Click Apply and then OK.
• Right-click on Windows Search again and select Restart.
