Windows 10: Windows Search Problematic Function

Can anyone kindly help me how to fix. Idk what's happening to my laptop or did I unintentionally tweak something that corrupts something in it. But the start and windows search function seems to be at odds where I can't find most and certain apps if they're not in C:\Users\[UserAcc]\appdata\roaming directory. I've been following tutors online from creating a new DWORD to regedit, rebuild index, restart Wsearch and windows explorer in task manager, using powershell or cmd to run command, but none were worked.I don't want to risk reseting my device as I've never done so, and I'm afraid things mi

My search is not functioning

1. Use the shortcut Ctrl-Shift-Esc to open the Task Manager.
2. If you see only a handful programs listed by it click on the "more details" link.
3. Locate "Cortana" under background processes.
4. Right-click on the process and select "end task" from the context menu.

The Cortana process is reloaded right away by the operating system.
