Windows 10: Windows Search Services missing or deleted from my PC.

So I can search certain things but generally the search feature doesn't work. It says indexing is turned off, however no locations are included and I'm unable to rebuild an index. After troubleshooting it says windows search service is not turned on, yet I can't find this service anywhere on my PC.


Have looked into re-downloading the service, but with no luck. Isn't a major issue but it does make finding documents very difficult.

I've watched many YouTube tutorials on how to resolve this issue but none seem to show the windows search service missing completely.


Any advice would be much appreciated, TIA.

windows xp installation and dual core am

could someone please list the steps they follow to install windows with a dual core processor and windows xp service pack to. I'm reletively new to amd dual core and i feel i'm missing a step. All help will be appreciated. thanx

 

Help with the Windows Search Service failed

Hi,

Having some damaged system components is one of the possible causes why the services in the system are failing. For us to provide an accurate solution, we would need you to answer the following questions:

• Which build, version and edition of Windows is installed on your computer?
• What changes have you made to your computer before this issue occurred?
• What troubleshooting steps have you done so far?

In the meantime, we suggest refreshing the Windows Search service. To do so, follow these steps:

• Press the Windows key + R to pull-up the Run box.
• In the Run box, type services.msc and then hit the Enter key.
• In the Services window, look for Windows Search, right-click on it and then choose Stop.
• Restart your computer.
• Pull-up the Services window again.
• Look for Windows Search, right-click on it and then choose Start.

My Tablet PC Input Service is missing/gone and others!

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

Could you please help me with the below information:

1. Which version of Windows you are using? (To check, type:
   winver in start menu and hit enter.)
   
2. Are you aware of any changes happened on the computer prior to the issue?
   
3. What is the make and model of the Tablet PC?
   

This issue can be fixed by enabling the service or starting it from the services. I would suggest you to follow the steps mentioned below:

Method 1: Start the service.

1. Press Windows and
   R key together on your Keyboard.
2. Type Services.msc and it enter.
   
3. Search for Tablet PC Input Service.
   (There are two other services responsible for Tablet input to function correctly.
   SL UI Notification Service and Software Licensing.)
4. Double click on the service and select
   Automatic in drop down StartUp type.
5. Click on Start or Restart option to start the service.
   

Method 2: Enable the service.

1. Press Windows and
   R key together on your Keyboard.
2. Type msconfig and it enter.
   
3. In the System Configuration window,go to
   Servicestab and search for
   Tablet PC Input Service.
4. Check the option, Tablet PC Input Service
   to enable it.
5. Click on Restart and check if the issue is fixed.
