Windows 10: Windows Search stops responding, causing other applications to freeze/crash Windows 11, 24H2

My Windows Search keeps stopping with reponding. Stopping and restarting the Windows Search service via Services doesn’t help, as Services reports that it “did not respond in time.” The only workaround is:Ending the two Windows Search tasks via Task Manager.Manually starting the Windows Search service again.However, this only resolves the issue temporarily, and the service stops responding after a few seconds.As Windows Search will not respond, any task that might use Windows Search, will freeze up. For example: File Explorer will crash after a while see image 1, opening the Searching Window

If you have upgraded from 1903, just uninstall the 1909 enablement package (listed as a Windows update) to go back to 1903.

You have Pro so can take control by setting upgrades to be deferred for 365 days, and updates to 'Notify' in group policy.

 

all games crash!

ive watch my temps and both the cpu and gpu are within normal ranges. when it freezes it simply freezes the image and stops the sound. i must reboot to get back to windows.
