Windows 10: Windows Search won't return Word Documents in Results

I'm using a Windows 11 laptop, recently updated. When running a search via File Manager, search terms that are commonly used in Word documents stored on the machine do not return any Word documents in the results.In attempting to fix this, I have:1. Re-indexed the computer.2. Checked the advanced index settings to make sure that the relevant files are included.

Search for documents containing a word, returns results but word is not there. Windows 10. Cache?

My search for a certain word, within documents, is giving me plenty of results.

However, many/most of the pages do not contain the word.

I think the pages it gives may have contained the word at some time in the past.

Is there a cache that I should clear before searching?

Btw, I am not using Cortana as it looks too intrusive for me.

Thank you Dave. No. To give you an example - I opened the Documents window, clicked Search and typed the word 'yellow'. A list of files resulted and I opened a file to continue my search. When I finished, I closed the file and returned to the list. I repeated
this action for a few files and as the list was quite long I wanted to reduce its size by removing from the list those files I had searched. You cannot delete the file from the list as the action also deletes the original file. I thought there might be a way
of just 'remove from the search 'result'. But it seems this is not possible.

• Which application are you using to access the document?
• Do you have any other error accessing the document.

I request you to perform system file checker. Follow the steps below which will help you:

• Press Windows key + X, click Command Prompt (Admin).
  
• In the Command Prompt, type the following command, and then press ENTER:
  
  sfc /scannow.

The sfc /scannow command will scan all protected system files, and replace corrupted files with a cached copy that is located in a compressed folder at %WinDir%\System32\dllcache.
