Windows 10: Windows Security actions not showing up in Protection History

My Windows Security sometimes blocks legitimate programs such as the game Mass Effect Andromeda from saving stuff, but when I click on the notification to allow it, doesn't show up so I can't allow it to save my games!

Protection History shows "No recent actions"

The normal behaviour is to initially open with the "No recent actions" heading then, after no more than a second (presumably while it scans its records) that changes to a list of previous actions. The window should not close on its own. That, and the hourglass when its should be reading its records, suggest that its record of past actions is corrupted.


In older versions of Defender there was a button to clear the history, but that was removed some time ago. You could try this method of cleaning out your protection history and see if it starts working again. You should probably also run a Chkdsk on your drive in case there is other corruption. SFC /Scannow wouldn't be a bad idea either.

It definitely works. This is the procedure that does indeed work.
I previously had tried deleting the folder before with no success but turning off, then on said protections is what apparently allows this to work. Thank you and the OP "LiNer2" from windows forum for this.

Windows 10 - Protection History not showing eventsor allowing actions

Hi,

So recently my Windows 10 PC has stopped showing me the details in the protection history. So basically I get the pop up notifications that Windows Virus & Threat Protection has stopped a legitimate program from making changes but when I go into the protection history by clicking the pop-up or by manually opening the Protection History I get met with basically a blank page. I have uploaded some images below to show what I mean.









My Windows 10 version is OS Build 19044. 1826

I have already tried to fix this buy resetting Windows 10 with the tutorials provided by Brink on this site to no avail. I wouldn't mind so much but this legit is stopping me from running programs that I might need to allow to save files etc on my computer as the protection is blocking it and I no longer can access an option to allow programs to do so.
