    Windows Security and Microsoft Defender sending conflicting messages


    Good afternoon,Using Windows 11 and Microsoft Office 365, I am experiencing conflicting messages from Windows Security and Microsoft Defender.Microsoft Defender is telling me that these are turned off: Yet Windows Security is telling me that they are turned on:I have tried refreshing each and turning them off and back on again, yet nothing changes.I would be most grateful for any suggestions as to how to get them to agree.Many thanks in advance.

    BlueSound OS conflict with Windows Defender

    Hi,



    Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.



    I understand that Windows Defender blocks BluOS app. It is very unusual that Windows Defender blocks the app. However, I would suggest you to try adding the app to the Exclusion list of Windows Defender and see if that helps.



    To add the application to the Exclusion list, please refer the steps mentioned in the article

    Add an exclusion to Windows Security    .

    Microsoft has released the final version of its Windows Defender anti-spyware utility. Windows Defender is a product of the Microsoft acquisition of GIANT Software. Previously known as Windows AntiSpyware, after a two years beta period it's now available for Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 under the name Windows Defender.     windows defender & security center services keep turning off


    Are you running any other AV or did you have one running in the past? If you didn't use an uninstaller for the AV, then the remnants of it could be causing the problem. Normally any time you install an AV it disables Defender by default.

    If you are getting any error codes please list those, that will be helpful in helping you.

    As torre suggested, might be a good idea to do a reset or even a reinstall.
