Windows 10: Windows Security and Update aren't working

    Windows Security and Update aren't working


    I had a trojan on my computer, I was able to remove it with malwarebytes but even after that Windows Security and Windows update are not working

    I can't download anything from the windows store

    and if I go to advanced option in windows update settings it freezes.

    Windows 7 Ultimate (64) Security updates not installing.

    I have been having problems in installing the updates that I have listed below. For each update I attempted to install them individually but they would not install. I also downloaded the SURT 6.1 KB947821 v27. The problem has been going on now for about 2 months. (whenever the issue with the updates comes to mind I am never near my pc). Thank you in advance.

    The native apps from the system are all showing this strange square instead of the normal icons. Please help resolve this problem. Thanks

    Hi,

    Thank you for posting your query at Microsoft community.

    Do the apps work fine apart form the icons not displaying correctly? If so I would suggest you to run an SFC scan and check if it helps. If the issue persists you may run DISM command and check.

    Follow this steps:


      • Press Windows+X.

      • Click on Command Prompt (Admin).

      • Type the command SFC /SCANNOW and
        DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth and hit
        Enter.
