Windows 10: Windows security coming up asking me sign in with a device where I have saved a code when...

However I've not set it up to do this. My windows hello pin Setting is already off as I'm having issues with even being able to use the pin in the first place. How can I get it to stop asking me to sign in via a phone as I don't have one that is set up with a pass code for this? I just want to be able to use my save credit card after typing in the cvc like I've always been able to do previously.

Ticked box doesn't stop request for code on trusted machine; comes before- I sign in frequently on this device. Don't ask me for a code.

If you turn on two-step verification, you’ll get a security code to your email, phone, or authenticator app every time you sign in on

When it’s turned off, you only get and re-send security codes periodically, and when there might be a risk to your account security.

Why does my user keep asking me to "sign into my microsoft account"?


ok well I signed in but it didn't ask for a code because I've previously told it to trust but then I looked at the security settings per option 3 and when I wanted to go to security, it wanted to send me a code so I got one and entered it and told it to trust this device again. Maybe that has fixed it? I didn't do the step of removing all trusted devices in option 3 but I could....
