Windows 10: Windows security completely unresponsive

Recently I noticed when I download something through Opera it can't confirm the download status as before, permanently leaving a 100%/100% 0bytes download in the little download menu. I looked up the problem, seemed to stem from some anti virus software according to people.Anyway, that led me to looking at my windows security in the settings menu. I recently updated my windows - about 3 weeks ago, after perhaps a year of not updating. Everything worked fine - other than the bloat that was installed. So I clicked on the security tab and nothing happened. The settings completely froze, becoming

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.

windows xp installation and dual core am

could someone please list the steps they follow to install windows with a dual core processor and windows xp service pack to. I'm reletively new to amd dual core and i feel i'm missing a step. All help will be appreciated. thanx

SonicWall is a good security product, so Mindweaver's suggestion sounds like a good one and should make for a rather bigger baby step. Let's hope they take it.
