Windows 10: windows security dashboard wont open after uninstalling norton antivirus

hi guys I bought my son an MSI laptop that comes with Norton antivirus preinstalled. I used nrt to get rid of Norton but now windows security dashboard doesn't open. Windows asks me, every time, to choose an app in the Microsoft store to open the security suite. THANKS

Greetings - am also experiencing the same issue (red x on the FireWall and Network protection icon in the Windows Defender Security Center). The link under the icon reads "Open Norton Antivirus". For my PC the link doesn't open Norton Antivirus "online"
--- rather it opens Norton Antivirus on the local computer. As Shane reported, when Norton Antivirus opens (locally for me), there is a dashboard that shows all components as being protected with no items to address. I visited both links suggested by

Jsssssssss, none of these addressed the issue (directly at least). Realize those links are also where one can post queries and have not yet done as such. I would think the issue is actually with Defender, not Norton since Norton application locally is
not indicating any issue, but rather Windows Defender is where the negative message is being displayed.

 

Norton Security not loading with Windows 10 - Why?

I would recommend you follow the below given steps and check if it fixes the issue.

I would suggest you to restart the Norton services from the services list, and set the Norton service to automatic.

Follow these steps to run Norton services:

Method 1:

Follow these steps to run Norton services

a. Press Windows key + R

b. In the run windows, type services.msc

c. It will open services windows

d. select norton services from the list of services

e. double click on it

f. At the top of the window, Make sure the service status is started and startup type is
automatic.

g.Click apply and OK.

If this does not fix the issue, try uninstalling and reinstalling Norton software and check if it helps.

If the above steps do not help , I would suggest you to contact Norton for further help.

Norton Security not working

Hello all,
Recently I installed norton security and it made my ati drivers crash.
I had to uninstall norton in order to get the drivers to work.

So is there any other antivirus out there that is compatible with win 10 and wont make my drivers crash?
