Windows 10: Windows Security Pin locks my computer

Window's security pin is asking for the pin account. When I enter the same pin I use to log into my computer, it loads and returns me to the same page. When I try "other sign in option" the screen loads and returns me to the page to enter my pin.It makes it so I cannot use my computer bc you cannot close or minimize it, I have to force close or shut down my computer and hope that the pop-up window does not show up.How do I get around this?

• What is the make and model of the computer? If you are using a Desktop, please help us with the make and model of the keyboard.
  
• Have you enabled PIN to sign in to the computer? If yes, are you facing any issues with PIN sign in?
  

In the meantime, you can follow the troubleshooting steps mentioned below and see if that helps:



I suggest you to check if the NUM lock key is on or not. If not, please press it to turn on NUM lock and try entering the PIN.



Method 1: Using On-Screen keyboard.



You can try using the On-Screen keyboard and see if the issue persists. Please follow the steps mentioned below:

1. Press Windows key + R, to open
   Run dialog box.
   
2. Type osk and click on OK.
   
3. Once opened, please use it to type the PIN.
   

Method 2: Disable PIN.



I suggest you to disable PIN set up and then check if the issue persists. Please follow the steps mentioned below:

1. Press Windows key + I, to open
   Settings.
   
2. Click on Account.
   
3. Click on Sign-in options.
   
4. Under PIN, click on Remove.
   
5. Enter the password to confirm that you want to remove the
   PIN.

Random Auto-Locking of Computer Screen

Nobody suggested checking out Event Viewer? When your computer randomly locks, search for, and open: Event Viewer Under Windows Logs, Check out: • Application • Security, and • System See if you can find something that states anything that could be related to your computer locking. The newest events are listed at the top of each section, so finding an event log would be pretty easy to find. Hopefully we can find what is causing the computer to lock.

 

Can't change pin and locked out of my computer

What happens when you click I forgot your PIN - does a Window not appear?

We can try clearing TPM, which stores hashes for the PIN, hoping it works.

Please open the Windows Recovery environment using either of the steps below:



On the Lock Screen, Press and hold the Shift key. Then, click the restart button on the lock screen located at the bottom right situated in the Power menu, to open the Windows Recovery options.



If you cannot reach the Lock screen or start your computer, restart your PC two times when the boot screen is shown. If your PC has no restart button, press and hold the Power button until the computer shuts down. Do this twice.

Select UEFI Firmware Settings.



Choose Security>Look for Intel PTT/Security chip option in the firmware Settings.



Clear the same and save the changes.
