Windows 10: Windows security prompt missing username and password entry fields

    Windows security prompt missing username and password entry fields


    I have a machine that when I do anything requiring elevation I'm getting the windows security pop up, but the username\password entry fields are missing and my only option is to select cancel.


    I've recreated the entire user profile but it's still happening. No idea at this point where to even start looking.

    Windows 10 - Username field and Password field not showing up when attempting to login to computer

    I have a weird issue. Computer is Windows 10, joined to a domain. Issue just started a few days ago.

    When pressing CRTL-ALT-DELETE to login the username and password field boxes are missing. I have tried the following:

    1. chkdsk c: /r

    2. Startup Repair

    3. Disable fast startup

    When I boot to safe mode the username and password boxes are there and I can login without an issue.

    How can I get the username and password fields back under a normal startup? HELP! (many thanks in advance)

    Why is windows security asking for username and password

    Hi,

    To isolate the issue, please provide the following information:

    • Are you referring to either the Microsoft Security Essentials or the Windows Defender? If not, please specify which Windows security utility is asking for your username and password.
    • Does the issue also occur when you try to connect to other Wi-Fi networks?
    • What username and password is being asked (e.g. Microsoft Account, etc.)? If it's other than your Microsoft Account, please specify which account.
    • What happens when you try to enter your username and password?
    • Were there any changes made on your computer prior to the issue?

    Edge Browser - Log-in Credentials | Missing Username and Password Fields; Can't Log In When They Are Available

    Hi All,

    I've been experiencing a problem in which bits and pieces of websites are missing with Edge - the most important ones being login/password fields. One example of this is www.ihg.com . I can see the field in Chrome but not in Edge. Is there a setting I need
    to tweak to get this to appear (security? something?).

    The other problem is that once I have the fields, no matter how many times I enter the username and password, the site will not log me in. Examples include amazon.com and netatmo.com . I've gone so far as to reset the passwords to I am SURE they are correct.
    This is obviously really really annoying. Is there a fix for this as well?

    Less important but still annoying, I get logged out of sites for no reason.
