Windows 10: Windows security says im not administrator so i cant change settings in virus protection

i messed around with some stuff in file properties under the security tab and now im no longer recognized as admin on my pc, i can still grant admin privs but i cant do anything that requires privs unless its the UAC prompt. i was wondering if there was any possible fix for this.

Thanks Dave, no worries.

It says under Security Providers in the Windows Security window that Windows Defender Antirvirus is turned on and that Windows Firewall is turned on, however under Web Protection it says there are no providers.

In Virus & Threat Protection settings, it still says that the settings are managed by your administrator. I am the administrator damn it! lol. I don't understand why it says that and how I can fix it.

Thank you so much for replying. I followed your steps but this hasn't solved the problem - still no virus and threat protection. The registry value was 3, and I changed it to 2 as you suggested. Should I change it back?

Any other suggestions?

Hello,

I installed the free trial of Malwarebytes to ensure I did not have any malware issues. I noticed it had switched Windows Security off, and the virus and threat protection said "this setting is managed by your administrator" for the top three settings. I
uninstalled Malwarebytes and still see the red writing with "this setting is managed by your administrator". Web protection also says "No providers".

Please help! I have Windows 10 Home version 1903.
