Windows Security Sign In Pop Up

I have a user that I recently swapped to a new machine. Since initial log in she continues to have this Windows Security pop come up every 5-10 minutes. It doesn't matter what she is doing, what apps are open, or any other identifiable cause of the pop up. The pop up doesn't even provide any helpful details as to where it is coming from. She is able to fully function and access everything she needs but the pop up has been annoying her, and me for two weeks. We are on a hybrid O365 and on prem AD domain. I have tried clearing everything from credential manager, network reset, and sfc /scannow w

    :)

Since you are still getting this pop up window, the next suggestion we have is to reset the network. Kindly refer to the steps below:

    • Click on Start.
    • Go to Settings.
    • Select Network & Internet.
    • On the Status tab, click on Network reset.

Doing this will make Windows forget the connection credentials and other networking components. You may have to re-enter you WiFi credentials if you will attempt to connect to your home network.

    Let us know the results.

  3. Windows 8 Secure Boot Feature: Not So Secure?

So Linux is switching to secure boot also? Or they have to because of UEFI?

Windows 8 Secure Boot Feature: Not So Secure?

    • Linux
    • Linux
    • Linux
    • Linux
    • Oh and OSX
Here is a statement from a Kernal Developer at Red Hat:

I'm not sure this exploits the legacy BIOS but rather it exploits the legacy boot method on MBR drives, injecting a signed key before the OS boots, which you are correct in that it has nothing to do with Windows 8. And the simplest fix would just be to require boot drives use GPT when Secure Boot is enabled in UEFI.
