Windows 10: Windows Security Virus & threat protction updates showing that the virus scanner is...

Good morning, I have a quastion about virus scanner in Windows 10 Security. I want to see where is written or showing that the virus scanner is updated three times a day automatically. Can I change this updates times of virus scanner in Win or in Microsoft Defender. If It is not possipole to see that in Win 10 Security, can I see this information and change it in admin- Microsoft Defender.**** moved from german to english Community ****

Simple. Virus scanners and virus programs are reactive, not proactive. This means the virus will come out infect computers, unfortunately yours, and the the virus scanners will be updated to handle the new threat. It is the nature of the game and applies to all virus scanners.

Fine a Anti-virus program that is updated frequently, does active scans of recently used files, and does some kind of Spyware block (separate program if needed). Its the best you can do.

I recommend AVG, Nod32 is good, and Clam Windows edition. I also agree with Mussels. Restart system in safe mode, run a full system scan using Ccleaner, then your anti-virus program, then your anti-spyware program. Or format away.

Yes - the virus scanners can deal with most low level threats. Medium level threats too if you use one of the superior examples like Nod32 or Kaspersky. You will have to either be very unlucky or go on some very dodgy sites to catch something that can't be stopped with a combination of a good firewall, good virus scanner (as I said, Nod32 or Kaspersky would be my choice), and good spyware scanner.
