Windows 10: windows server 2012 R2 standard group policy schduled tasks do not apply to win10

windows server 2012 R2 standard, Win 10 PC, Win 10 PC joined windows server 2012R2 standard


I want to deploy GPO scheduled task shutdown policy to all the win 10 pc inside OU test1.


I create a OU test1 and create user account T1 , T2 inside OU test1.

I create a group policy shutdown1 in OU test1.


Case1
the group policy setting is , computer configuration > preference >control panel setting >scheduled task




After I set the group policy scheduled task , I login win 10 pc with user account T1. And than I gpupdate /force and log off and login . But the win10 client pc do not shutdown at specified time. I check with the command gpresult /r , the the shutdown policy do not apply to win 10 client pc. Win10 task schduler do not have the shutdown policy. I try to test schduled task action create , update, replace not work .



Case2

Group Policy (Windows Server 2012) not applying to window 10 Pro 1607

Hi,

I have a situation in my environment where my end user machine with window 10 Pro version 1607 is not syncing with my Group Policy.

My Group Policy management is in window server 2012 standard and it works for Window 10 Pro version 1511 and the latest version 1703.

Any idea what could be blocking the syncing. I have check the RSOP and gpresult both showing the correct policy was being applied.

For example: I defer the window update in the policy and it only works for version 1511 and 1703 but not 1607.

The adml and admx template I use is 1607 and it is a bit strange it is not working on the end user machine.

Please advice.

Is this a correct way to do? If I follow this step, will my data be erased?

I want to avoid formatting/fresh Windows install because there are some software in the server that we do not know how to backup. We just want to get it activated now, backup will be sorted out later.
