Windows 10: Windows Server 2016 DataCenter to Windows Server 2019

I successfully upgrade Windows Server 2012r2 to Windows Server 2016 datacenter. I then attempted to upgrade Windows Server 2016 data Center to Windows Server 2019 data center. After I mount the 2019 ISO and accept . The 2019 Setup won't allow me to Keep personal files and apps.I then ran DISM /online /Get-TargetEditions and the following information is returnedImage Version 10.0.14393.4169The Current edition cannot be updated to any target editionsI need to do an in place upgrade because I have no options for copying the data. I understand a clean install is the preferred approach.

Windows Server 2016 Datacenter activation

We acquired a license for Windows Server 2019 Datacenter but we need to install Windows Server 2016 Datacenter. What is the procedure to convert the Product Key for activation?

Hi Gents,

in my organization we have windows server 2016 datacenter

and we activate windows 7 and windows 10 enterprise and bro from windows server 2016 datacenter kms host key,

we need to install windows server 2019 datacenter to activate windows 10 LTSC 2019,

my questions are?:

1- will we lost activation of windows 7 and windows 10 "old laptops"

2- activation of windows 10 LTSC just in windows server 2019 data center KMS ? and not possible in windows server 2016 datacenter?,

3- what is the problems that will face if we upgrade our windows server?

 

Activate Windows Server 2022 Datacenter on Hyper-V Host with Windows Server 2019 Datacenter

Hi!

I tried to aktivate a new VM on my Hyper-V Host.

The Hyper-V Host is a Windows Server 2019 DataCenter Core.

The new VM is a Windows Server 2022 DataCenter (with GUI).

For the activation by Host i use the AVMA-Key for Windows Server 2022 DataCenter but the Server couldn´t be activated with this key.

Why? Isn´t possible to use a WinSrv 2022 DC as guest on a WinSrv 2019 DC Host?
