    Windows server 2016 does not accept local admin user login


    Dear all, I have a windows server 2016 R2, i recently pulled and installed an update and after which, i can no longer login with the local account credentials. Also note that the server is not on the domain.I have also tried resetting the admin account using the installation CD, on checking diskpart and list disk, the system does not identify the C: Drive nor any other internal drive except the D: drive which the external DVD drive.Please, has any one encounter such a case and i will appreciate possible solution.Thank you

    Setting up a Logon Script through Active Directory Users and Computers in Windows Server 2016 r2

    Hi All,

    I have Server 2012 r2 and some 100 users are connected to my domain, I need to push a login script through Active Directory Users and Computers in Windows Server 2016 r2 to all the user's machine (Windows7 & Windows 10). Please suggest me steps to do this.

    Black Screen on User Login Windows Server 2016 Terminal Server

    I have randomly only Black Screen, when a User logs on to a Windows 2016 Terminal Server.

    The Server ist fully patched trough Windows Update.

    I tried already lot of suggestions that I have found in forums on the internet - nothing helped.

    As lots of other Admins are facing a similar problem with in different configuration, I think this should be addressed by Microsoft - or does anyone have an idea on how to solve it?

    - The Terminal Server is running on a esxi 6.5 Server in my case - but I have seen other Admin having the same problem on hardware install as well

    - Chrome is installed on my Terminal Server

    - Around 50 people are working on this Terminal Server

    - The problem seems to occur daily with random users

    - All Users can be affected by the problem

    - Ctrl+Alt+End does work (so the User could logoff himself or start Task Manager)

    - There is no log of this issue

    Windows server 2016 does not accept local admin user login

    Does windows(10/server-2016) have privileged ports ?

    I can bind to any un-used privileged ports with out admin credentials. Is this expected ? Is there no concept of privileged ports in new versions of windows ?

    Below are the steps I followed:

    1. Logged in as non-admin user in Windows-server 2016.
    2. Installed python and started the server on port 80 using python -m SimpleHTTPServer 80
    3. Another user on the same system could access using http://localhost
    Can anyone provide more in-sight into this ?
