Windows 10: Windows Server 2016 randomly logs off.

We have two VM's running Windows Server 2016 on a HPE ProLiant DL380 Gen 10 running Windows Server 2019 Standard. These VM's are duplicates of each other and run a service for the two separate restaurants. The VM's need to remain logged in for the service to run. The same user account is used for these two VM's and another VM and standalone server, these two other servers don't have this issue.Over the past 6 months, at random times both or just one VM will be forcibly logged out, causing the service to stop running. When checking the system log, there is a WinLogOn event with the description:

Windows Server 2016 Upgrade

When updating from windows server 2012 R2 to server 2016, I'm not getting the step by step procedures where you can select keep file and apps and other steps. I just get the setup screen, which after couple of minutes it display a window to select what type of windows server you want to install.

Once selected it does a full install of windows server 2016, which re-images the C drive. Afterwards you have to re-install all your applications.

Any suggestions on why it doesn't go through the step by step procedures.

Does windows(10/server-2016) have privileged ports ?

I can bind to any un-used privileged ports with out admin credentials. Is this expected ? Is there no concept of privileged ports in new versions of windows ?

Below are the steps I followed:

1. Logged in as non-admin user in Windows-server 2016.
2. Installed python and started the server on port 80 using python -m SimpleHTTPServer 80
3. Another user on the same system could access using http://localhost

Can anyone provide more in-sight into this ?
