Windows 10: Windows server 2019 file server backup server.

Hello,So basically I have a server running server 2019 dedicated for files and all the network drives / users home spaces etc. What I really want to do is get another server and set the new server up as a fail back. So, if there's any issues with the main server it will either redirect to another IP which will be the back up server or I will just change the ip adress on the client to point to the backup temporary.My two questions are:Is there a way to keep all files on both servers in syncIs there a way for clients to automatically redirect to the fail back sever if it can get the files from t

Windows Server Backup app problem in Windows Server 2019

Dear All,

The problem mentioned in the subject may be quite simple one. But for me it is a big head ache to find what might be the cause. I believe in this community and let me explain my problem in detail.

Few days ago I tried installing WINDOWS DEPLOYMENT SERVICES in my company DOMAIN CONTROLLER which is running in WINDOWS SERVER 2019 and succeeded in that attempt.

But I changed my mind later and then I removed that feature. The very next day what happened was, when I tried to do backup of my windows server I found the backup feature is missing. Here are the steps what I did to bring it back.

1. Tried updating the server through windows update. Nothing worked.
   
2. Tried mounting the windows server 2019 OS image file from microsoft website and enabling the feature from DISM and Get commands. Nothing worked in this case too.
   
3. Used the same DISM to use online source for repairing the system image. Also didn't work.
   

The server OS previously installed was Windows Server 2016 by the software vendor and then they updated it to Windows Server 2019. Whenever I am trying the above fixes it is showing only one error "SOURCE NOT FOUND".

I finally installed VEEAM backup and took the server's whole backup.

But I want to know why this WINDOWS SERVER BACKUP feature missed from the server suddenly.

Can anyone help?

 

Windows Server Backup on Win Server 2019 Is Always Perform Full Backup

I've installed Windows Server 2019, and there are users sharing files stored on the drive, and I installing "Windows Server Backup" to backup the files. But why does backups is always run full backup, instead of incremental backups after the first full backup?



I set it to daily task backup, and I use NAS HDD with iscsi connection for backup destination disk, and usb HDD for another server, but both are always run full backup.



I've done to Configure Performance Settings by trying to choose another option there (Normal..., Faster...., Custom), but it doesn't work.



And I've done this "Windows Server Backup" before, on Windows Server 2016 with the same method, and it ran an incremental backups properly after the first full backup.



Can you tell me the reason, and what method to do to get an incremental backup in Windows Server 2019?

server AD backup 2012 to server AD backup 2019

Dear all ,

I had server 2012 installed with active directly but unfortunately the HDD got corrupted but i have AD backup in folder named as NTDS.

Now i have installed server 2019 on a new HDD .IS there any way i can restore my OLD AD backup folder "NTDS " to my new AD server 2019 because it will save my LOT of time to recreate OU , USERS , POLICIES
